چکیده
Due to the expansion of IoT applications which causes generation a massive amount data, data routing is one most important challenges in these networks. MT-RPL: a cross-layer approach for mobility support in RPL
Low Power and Lossy Networks (LLNs) are inherently dynamic nodes move or experience link perturbations. Routing packets in LLNs is generally performed by the IETF IPv6 Routing Protocol for Low-Power and Lossy Networks (RPL). To face the dynamics of LLN, RPL is helped by external mechanisms such as Neighbor Unreachability Detection (NUD) or Bidirectional Forwarding Detection (BFD). In this artic...
متن کاملRPL Mobility Support for Point-to-Point Traffic Flows towards Mobile Nodes
The “routing protocol for low-power and lossy networks” (RPL) from the IETF ROLL working group is a widely used standard to support routing in wireless sensor networks (WSNs). Although the RPL protocol was originally designed with static topologies in mind, recently a number of extensions have been proposed to support traffic flows from mobile nodes towards a static gateway. However, this paper...
متن کاملLow Power RPL for Internet of Things (IoT)
Internet of Things (IoT) has the potential to improve the way we interact with things. IoT envisions the idea of universal connectivity of everything which is defined as the global network of uniquely identifiable and addressable smart things posing the capability to interact and communicate with other smart things. Every smart object consists of a microprocessor, transceiver module, a sensor a...
متن کاملStudy of Mobility Enhancements for RPL in Convergecast Scenarios
In recent years, mobility support has become an important requirement in various wireless sensor network (WSN) applications. However, due to the strict resource constraints of power, memory, and processing resources in WSNs, routing protocols are mainly designed without considering mobility. Low-Power and Lossy Networks (LLNs) are a special type of WSNs that tolerate data loss. The Routing Prot...
متن کاملTRAIL: Topology Authentication in RPL
The IPv6 Routing Protocol for Low-Power and Lossy Networks (RPL) was recently introduced as the new routing standard for the Internet of Things. Although RPL defines basic security modes, it remains vulnerable to topological attacks which facilitate blackholing, interception, and resource exhaustion. We are concerned with analyzing the corresponding threats and protecting future RPL deployments...
